Default Monroe Sensatrac struts?

It'* time to replace the struts on my 97 SE at 105K miles. I was thinking KYB because I want more firmness and roll control. The guy at NTB is telling me that
Monroe Sensatracs are quite good.

Does anyone use these? If so, how do they compare to OEM?

Thanks.

Mike

I had mine replace with them and well they are quite stiff but I can take a 25mph corner at 50 but seriously they feel a little to stiff but that could be in combination with the tires I've got. The other thing is the old shocks were very week so I'm not sure how good my comparison is.

I have sensa tracs on my Trans Am, and I think they are too mushy. My mom has them on her cutlass and I feel the same way. My dad bought some Monroe Reflex for his 96 Ultra, I just have to get the time to travel home to put them on for him, when they are on I can report back.

I had the Reflexes on my 95 Sonoma, and I was VERY happy with them. They eliminated alot of roll and diving that the factory shocks had. Many parts stores will tell you they are not available for the SSE/i, but they have to look in the Monroe book. They were $92 each for the front and $107/ea for the back on the Ultra with ELC.

No, there are no aftermarket shocks that will work with the CCR (computer control ride), but the will work with the ELC (Electronic Level Control).
