running 3800 w/o cowling
I have a non-SC'd 3800 series II....I've been wanting to leave the engine cowling off because it seems like it would run a bit cooler..not that I'm having overheating problems..but with the engine being high milage I would think it may be good for it.....is this a bad idea?heat transference?

Many people have removed the engine cover. I have mine off and after taking if off, it looks like a blanket to keep heat in the engine. You are safe running without the plastic engine cover that says 3800 Series II

You can mesh it and keep the looks, but if you want, go ahead and remove it.

He may think he does, but unless he did a swap, he has the Series 1 L27 in his 1993 SE.
Alot of people are mistaken about what motor is in their car, considering the sheer numbers of Series 2'* produced since 1995.
