...Technical Ted came down to help me with mine and we unplugged it when the car was off. Then..it wouldn't even stay running. It didn't make sense based upon what other'* have said here... but regardless, once I put the new one on, no more problems.

William,
I think we are basically troubleshooting the same type problem. I pulled the connector off the MAF when the car was idling. The idle will jump up when you first remove the connector and then the idle will go down a little when you reconnect it., but just for a short second. If it acts this way, then your MAF is prob good. I read through your post quickly, and I didn't see if you have cleaned your MAF sensor. I would recommend that before you do anything else. I cleaned mine and it didn't change anything. The info to clean the MAF is in techinfo. BTW, I think my problem is my MAP sensor. I'll know in afew minutes.
Good luck.

Mine'* ok. I unplugged it while running, no change in idle or how it was running. Then I unplugged it with the car off, started right up. So, my MAF is ruled out of this. Yes, it'* been cleaned, when I put my supercharger back on.

Checked for vacuum leaks with the starting fluid. Seems to be no leaks. :(
I have thought of everything possible for a bad idle. Also need to mention that the car is sometimes hard to start first thing in the morning, even with alot of gas in it, yet the fuel pressure is fine, and the FPR is good, no smell of fuel in the line.

Hope this helps.

You might be on to something. This just may explain my stinky exhaust and terrible gas mileage. I am going to test the ECT and see if it'* the culprit. I know my ECT for the gauge is fine.

Hmm, a little interesting thing to add to this. Turned onto a road today and opened it up to about 40, let off the gas quickly, and it STALLED. Yes, stalled. Tach fell to 0, and was dead. Pulled over and it started right back up. Good thing too, I would have got hit by the semi behind me. Now what? :(

you said fuel pressure was good, but did you check the fuel pressure regulator? that wouldnt explain the idle i dont think, but that is what solved my stalling problem (like you mentioned)
