Default a bunch of little things

1) This weekend while driving the car to go do some Christmas shopping, (Andy driving) had the "check guages" light come on. He put it in neutral and it appeared to be the oil pressure going into the red but this only happened at an idol, with the break on, heater on, radio...and all other things that would be running at the time. If he put it into neutral and gave it a bit of gas it was fine.
So we checked the oil, it was fine.....what else could it be?

2) My gas needle when leaving yesterday went down 1/4 of a tank in about five minutes of driving....uhhhhhhhhh it just dont seem right!

3) And last but not forgotten it the way my car mysteriously turns on the radio after I get out and lock up the car.....this has happened twice. One day the kids were outside and came in a said my car radio was on. The next time I cought it in action. I locked up and went to walk away and then the antena started coming up and the radio blaring! I think my car is haunted...giggle!

So what do you think?

I don't know about the last two problems, but for the Oil gauge, I have the same problem. I think it is a bad sending unit.

The gas gauge problem is something you will have to live with. Your car is not using too much fuel, the bobber inside the tank moves around when the car takes turns accelerate brakes. The same thing happens to my 94 ssei as well as a few others here.

Was the radio left on when you turned the ignition off?

If so, the radio problem sounds like a problem with your Retained Accessory Power system. It is supposed to leave the radio on after the ignition is shut off, until a door is opened. It'* possible the relays are engaging when they aren't supposed to.

Are there any aftermarket electrical modifications on your car, such as an alarm, a radio, a remote starter, etc?

I always leave my radio on....

Dont think it could be due to something new being installed. I have the factory radio, the security that came with the car no remote starters...so I dont think that could be it. Maybe there is something I dont know of...

Also I know when I got out of the car, that the radio had turned off (opening the door.) Then while walking away the antena starting coming out again. It was also wet that day, the ground and the car...could that have something to do with it? I dont recall if the first time if it was damp out.

Should this be a major concern?

Did you turn the radio off yourself before turning the ignition off? Your car has a feature that lets you use all the power accessories in your car after u turn the ignition off until you open the car door. If your car has a problem somewhere within this feature, that could be causing the radio to turn back on. Possibly the car doesn't know you've opened the door and continues to go on. Maybe the switch that indicates when the door is ajar is busted.

Also, what do u do to turn the radio off in the car? Do you open the door and it turns off? Or do u have to push the power button? Let me know. thanks

The radio is a tough one. According to the service manual, you have to go thru an electrical diagnosis, leading to the replacement of the relay, ignition switch, the RAP module, or some of the wiring.

You'll have to do a good electrical diagnosis on that one.

The oil pressure sender is under the engine. I replaced mine by putting the RF of the car up on a lift, removing the wheel and mud-guard, and then unscrewing it out.
