Default Bad Airflow in A/C system

I have a '97 SE with the automatic climate control. it seems like the airflow has very little pressure, even when the fan is on high. and when you turn it to low, it seems like it doesnt even blow at all. it has done this the whole time i have owned the car. i recently had a new compressor put in and i asked them about this problem and they said the evaporator core was probably dirty, so i had them clean that too when they did the work. That didnt really seem to help at all. I was wondering if any body else has had this problem and if you know what it was? i would prefer to know exactly what to replace rather than spending a bunch of money on things that dont need replaced. Thanks for any help.

Now, assuming your blower fan is working right, that only really leaves the evap. I just finished up a write up with Toddsters help. It should only take you about a half hour to do.

that has already been cleaned. they cleaned that when they replaced my compressor because we thought that was the porblem but it didnt really help at all. im wondering if its the blower motor or the climate control unit itself.

What I would do is pull the resister pack. Then run the fan and see if the air is moving. If you feel a lot of air leaving the opening, then it may not be going threw the core. If you feel very little air, but here the motor spinning good, the blower may be broken. I'll see if I can do a write up on pulling and replacing this motor.

I'm not a big fan of the cold either. When I did that EVAP write up it was -5. Kind of hard typing with frozen fingers.

lol yea. i would usually be driving my truck on days like this, because the heat works really good, but um well, last time i drove it, it decided not to shift into 2nd or 4th gear. i think i beat it a little bit too hard over the years. lol i might post it up in the other rides section. we did a full rebuild on it before i got it.
