Default 1993 4T60E Tranny Solenoids

Hey guys...any Tranny experts out there???

I need to replace my 1-2 shift solenoid in my tranny...from the info I am getting,
Sounds like I have to drop the tranny...Is this true?? and if so..what do you recommend on other things that should (or could) be replaced also...

Of course ALL wearable parts is probably the most sensible answer, But I am (will)
be working with minimal cash on hand...
Thanks for any and all input...

Hey thanks..Al...this is exactly why I love this club..

By the way...is there a way to electrically diagnose the tranny components...seeing that I am there already...good common sense tells me to do this one time only..

I have heard that maybe placing the internal valve may not be a bad idea also..

Any take on this...

Thanks again.....

How did you determine the 1-2 solenoid was bad?

Pulled the codes...had a 36 & 56..36= trans shift control 56= quad driver. went to Autozone for the print out...describes areas that could be affected...deduced that it was 1-2 solenoid by process of elimination.

A realtime scan would show when it'* actually trying to shift while driving. Comparing what the scantool says to what you observe through the seat of your pants and on the Tach can be invaluable. Do this during automatic shifting and manual shifting. That'* the best way to be sure.

I wouldn't unless you were having a shift problem. It'* not fun, and won't buy you anything unless they're bad.

I have a TCC code 1864; 2 to 3 shift sol stuck on 0756; 2 to 3 sol 0758 and 1 to 2 0753. Feels like trying to start in OD. Have to shift 1;2;3 to get it going. Cruise not working either. Plan on replacing TCC; 1 to 2; 2 to 3. What about 3 to 4? should I replace that also since we are in it?
