Anyone know who makes this? Pontiac dealer says it'* discontinued and mine is cracked. Color is taupe.

Well i just checked and katzkin has interiors available for 97-99 se'* and sse'* (i think that includes yours). Go to their website, and in the menu at the top choose interiors. Then choose search for your interior, then enter your information. The one you need i think is the second from the bottom, the 97/99 45/45 split with console. Click the pattern # to see a layout. Then go to autoleathers.com to design and match your colors. I don't believe you can buy just the centers.

Bob you need to call Mod Man....known to the club as Randman1 He redid door panels, steering wheel covers and shifter ***** after he made his own sun visors and had them embroidered. Somehow I am positive a seat cover is not beyond his talents.

how bout a junkyard piece? try and get a Passenger cover, they usually arent worn

You just need to find a reputable auto upholstery shop in your area and they can replace just the damaged sections with new leather. We do this all the time for every car and truck out there. In my area, you would be looking at about 275- 350 for the complete bottom out of leather and vinyl as original, or just a section for around 175 out of leather. Anyway, hope this helps.

Mr. Pontiac: I was quoted $200 labor at the local reputable auto upholstery shop. I thought that was very reasonable, so he went in to get his books to match the leather color and pattern. The leather material came to about $280, and that was just for the three front sections, not including the perforated portion!

I'm tempted to just buy the complete leather interior (both front AND back seats) at a website another poster recommended, having him recover just the driver'* seat, and wait for the rest of the interior to go sour.

This is nuts, in one word. .

Prices are definatly differant everywhere, but my upholstery distributors sell leather an average of about 20 cents per square inch. So say you needed 2 pieces roughly 20 by 7 inch and a couple more at 20 by 14 inches... this comes out at about 168.00. In comparison, you can by a half hide of leather for about 150 and cut your own pieces of leather out in your measurements and still ahve lots left for the next job..

Point is, there are differant ways to go about it and depending on how much his cost is and etc. the price may be fair and or not fair.

For what its worth, the leather seats are actually leather and vinyl combination. The sides and backs are vinyl. You can see that they match very well. You can have the shop order the original Detroit vinyl and use it instead of real leather.. most people do not know the differance anyway. It would more than likely save you up to half the cost of the job as original vinyl runs about 30-40 dollars per yard which is 54/36 inches. Alot cheaper than leather.

mrpontiac80, I do have one question for you but I'm having trouble wording it correctly. We'll use the left bolster section for an example cause this is usually the section most would be interested in changing. This section has the top stitches (I believe you call them "baseball" stiches in the industry) as do the adjacent sections. I assume that these need to be removed in order to sew the new section in. My question is about the looks of the adjacent sections which are now preforated from the previous baseball stitch. How do the pros go about hiding this preforation?
