Bubbling sound after engine shut off
I've noticed this a couple times now.
I'll shut the car off and it sounds like it'* overheated -even though the temp guage show'* like 180-200*.
I've checked the oil and coolant on numerous occasions and never seen any mix of the two nor lack thereof of either.
I've opened the overflow tank (where you'd expect to see the bubbling, were the engine actually overheating, and seen no signs of higher than desirable temps.
What would be making this sound? I have looked and looked but never can find the location it'* coming from.
I've also tried to bleed the cooling system but there has been no air escaping from the bleeder valve -just coolant.
Anyone had this before or know what it is?

Mine did that after i flushed my cooling system, my quick fix was, remove the rad cap, start the car when its cold, let it warm up once the thermostat opens up, you know it, the coolant normally will overflow ouf of the rad cap, my bubbled for a while, alot of air escaped out of the cooling system that way, problem was solve, however i did loose some coolant doing this.

Bubbling sound is the sound of overhaeting? Mine makes a bubbling sound after shut off, but it comes from what sounds like just under the radio. :? I thought maybe it was the fuel lines?

If not and you do find that the cooling system is bubbling through the Overflow, but the engine has not overheated you may need a new radiator cap..

I've had cars which made bubbling noises, or sizzling sounds, as the air conditioning pressures adjusted after shutting down. Try running the motor in a warmer area above 50 like your garage for a while and then shutting down after running the air conditioner for a few minutes and listen for the noise.
Is it possible there'*

Wait until it'* cold, remove the radiator cap, turn the heater on full, and let it warm up in the driveway. Then fill the radiator to the top and replace the cap.
As another poster said, what you're hearing is air in the cooling system.

Heat on fullblast..... ok.
Now should I run the engine, or just put the car into ON?
I have an electric water pump, so I can pump the coolant w/o running the engine.
