Reseating the instrument cluster connectors
My 98 Bonneville SSEi compass went dead, and I also noticed the information center flash in response to a bump - from what I've read, it is common for the connectors to get a little tarnished with some mild corrosion.
Does anyone know how I get to these connectors? Do I need to pull the dashboard apart? Does anyone know how to do this, or point me in the right direction?

Ok, the procedure for taking it out and pulling apart is outlined is this techinfo link below. I've taken the clusters out many times. Here'* what I learned. No need to lower the steering column. Leave the black screws in..they only help keep the connectors attached to the circuit board. And it sounds like you are looking for a small crack or cold soldier joint
