Tranny ?*
Ive got a 95 bonny SE...the other day i backed out of my driveway and started driving down the road when the check engine light came on it wouldnt shift and the speedo didnt work so i turned around and pulled back in popped the hood looked around for a little and notice that i blew a hole where the speed sensor is...i saw a little piece of gear...that part of the tranny that the sensor goes in looks like it unbolts from the rest of the tranny now i havent taking it apart yet but does anyone have a diagram of how that looks inside there and also that piece of gear i found does that connect to a shaft that goes into the tranny or what do you think it goes to....oh yah there was also no loud bang no clunking when i left and its been running and shifting fine also just rolled 111k

Read twice.. there'* a piece of a gear in your hand? Not good, you probably need a new differential and cover.
If the gear is in the trans.. you may need to just bolt the sensor back in place and or replace just the diff cover.
Overall...odd though.

Whatever you do.. don't pull the diff with the shaft attached like the last picture. Thers'* a plastic lube dam to help lube the diff that breaks when you pull the main shaft from the passenger side instead of the driverside.

So pull the diff, remove the lock ring, and pull the output shaft from the drivers side. But, you really don't need to remove the output shaft to change the diff.
