Default 1997 Stalls when it warms up

I have looked on here to see what other people have found and the thing that comes up the most are 1. The battery cable clean and new battery. 2. The crank position sensor. I got the battery and the crank position sensor on this past weekend and I’m still having the same problem.

So what it does is I will drive for a long time and then I will start to notice that I can not get the car to go over 3rpm. Then I will be driving and it will stall but if I leave my foot on the gas the car will stay running but only at 1 to 1.5rpm then ill take my foot off the gas and it will turn off. then I can pull over and start it and drove for a little bit then it will stall again. This will happen till I let it sit and cool down for 3 to 4 hours. then will drive for long time fine till it warms up.

PLEASE HELP.

Thanks,

had this problem before... at least one similar... mine would lose high rpms as it got warmer til it wouldnt run at all... turned out to be 1 bad plug... had a hairline fracture in the ceramic coating causing it to ground itself prematurely and not spark ... had IT replaced and problem solved

start with checking all the plugs for and cracks or abnormalities of any kind and let us know.... or change them outright if you have the $$$ to spare

ps bad wires could also cause this, so if niether have been changed for some time you may want to look into replacing both completely

good luck

I would concentrate on cracked coil, cracked plug, or a bad plug wire.
