Remote lock/unlock question

hold down lock and unlock on fob for 10-15 seconds. you might get a horn honk after 8 secs, might not.

I had that same thing ...but only one remote. It was the remote.

Tracy what is the fob number on the back? If it matches one I have here..I'll zip it down there for you to try. See if it'* fob or receiver.

That is everything is on it.

It use to work until today. The unlock part worked this morning but the lock didn't. I had to manually lock the car by pushing the inside button Geez, that about wore me out I use to never have this option and did fine but now that I have it I want it, I like it

relearning should fix the problem of being able to unlock but not lock. I'll find the post of my GP that had the same problem

I am glad this has already been talked about. Where is the RKE? I am thinking an external nmo antenna for the unit. The fact that I need to be about 5' from my car for my remote to work is

In the meantime (until the problem is resolved), hold the fob against your lower jawbone when you hit the button. It will more than double your range.

Right, your open mouth is a waveguide, projecting the signal where you want it instead of omnidirectional. I would like to avoid the StarWars look if I can. No pun for anyone who likes StarWras

It has nothing to do with waveguide (the frequency emitted by the transmitter is too low to work with a waveguide) and works with your mouth closed. It'* simply using your body as an antenna. Nothing more.

I mentioned it as a convenient suggestion to those having problems until they get the problems fixed.

Yes, the freq is a little on the low side, but I have heard that it works. Hmmm, using the body as an antenna would be too tall for the freq. The remote on mine is at 315mhz which is about 7-8 in while keeping a low swr. 74" here. But, I will try it. I love the theory, it'* a first for me. How much more range can one expect from doing this??

Calculate the 1/4 and 1/2 wave antenna lengths for 315Mhz. I think you'll discover it'* using just your head as an antenna.
