oil pressure fluxing...
ok...lately I have noticed my oil pressure fluxuates after I gun it...ie:if i really get on it it'll move around for a bit afterwards...if i am giving it gas it'll go up to normal...but when I idle at a stop light or even when moving it'll drop(idles at 1000)....it stays within the "safe" points on the guage but I am wondering if this is normal?....or is there an impending doom?....I ask because I have never noticed it do this before...i could just be over-reacting but i wanna be careful..under normal driving conditions it doesn't do it.....and after sitting for awhile(overnight) it doesn't do it the next day....I do have a small oil leak...other than that everything is running fine...
i am still running the stock plastic intake...so thats one concern I have....just being cautious...hope its not an annoying question; )

It'* not abnormal for oil pressure to fluctuate. At idle it will be a lower pressure than when at driving rpm. As far as the stock upper intake, keep an eye on whether or not there is coolant consumption if any.

The best rule of thumb on oil pressure questions would be for you to put a mechanical gauge on it asap and confirm or deny the readings. It'* been my experience for the most part that either the sender or gauge cluster are malfunctioning. However that is no reason to throw money at either until you are positive.
Then if you think it is jumping around a lot. I'd put money on the cluster. Good news is it seems we have most of the cluster problems that involve the three gauges off to the right of the dash isolated to a small circuit board (yes it'* replaceable)

you might want to go ahead and change out your upper intake, as well as replacing your lower intake gaskets..its some pretty expensive preventative maintenance, around 120 for the upper intake, gaskets, and mine came with a new PCV valve...and then the lower gasket set was about 40 i think...so for under 200 you should be able to do it, get a Chiltons to help you out...
if you wait till it goes to replace it youll have to spend extra money on what i like to call "accessories" such as new spark plugs(the old ones will probably be fouled by coolant), 2 oil filters and a crap load of oil, not to mention the possibility of something being damaged by the overheating of when it goes
as for the oil pressure do like they said and get a mechanical gauge, i just thought id chime in on the upper..having been a victim of it myself.
