Reawakening: Odd hiccup, popping noise, and center console lid
Water pump done, so now now fuel or water leaks. Now have to figure out what'* oiling the motor down. I think it'* just bad valve cover gaskets. Poor Bonne didn't get much love from the previous owner, got some CEL'* to chase down as well.. Is there anyway to do this without a code reader or a scan tool? (thinking of old pre OBD mopars that would flash the code to you if you turned the key on and off in a certain way). In any event, a nice pressure wash is in my future, as the engine is quite filthy on the bottom end..

Thanks, i will. Looks like I will need a new SC coupler, as there'* a quite loud knock coming from the snout on idle that goes away once you rev the engine a little. Only there on idle..

Reawakening: Odd hiccup, popping noise, and center console lid
Been awhile since i've posted. As everyone knows, life happens. Was driving my daughters car when a guy blew a stop sign and was in my crosshairs.. Managed to miss him, but not without some damage to her car. Got the insurance settlement and during the process of repairs found that there was more that needed to be done with it than just the collision damage (new steering rack and exhaust) so I pulled the Bonneville out of mothballs, popped out the dent in the back door and cleaned up the interior. Went to DMV and transfered tags, so now the Bonneville is a DD for me or my kid (we swap cars from time to time). I really should have done this sooner, but I was actually going to sell the car. In this economy got plenty of interest, but none of them have the cash. Still have some work to do, but it'* really just routine maintenance and wear items (rotors and pads, tires, oil change etc.) Have to recharge the A/C, but other than that it'* a really smooth ride. The odd hiccup from a launch, but I think that'* more due to having crap gas in the car than a misfire because it'* so intermittent. Still got to get some more wheels for this thing, them chrome monstrosities on it are just awful..

This thing has some serious get up and go on the street, i have to make sure i have the traction control activated before I let my kid drive it to school. I knew these things were fairly quick, but i had no idea. There is one issue though, at low speeds (it'* probably happening all the time, but I only hear it at low speeds) there'* a popping noise coming from the steering rack, i think it'* the coupling maybe binding up or something, but there'* no play in the steering and there'* no resistance either. I'll check it out this weekend. Otherwise, except for the A/C, i am more than pleased with this thing.

Any idea where I can find a decent center console, or even just a console lid? All the local pick-n-pull yards around these parts have really beat up interior stuff. I could get away with just replacing the vents in the back and the console lid, if I could find one..
