Up-date on 99 Bonneville fuel pump
I finally found the fuel pump fuse and relay, it was under the glove box. I had to take off a large plastic cover to get at it. It turns out the fuel filter was totally plugged, which burnt up the fuel pump. Had to lower the exhaust, take out the gas tank. install a new pump. Glad I only had the tank half full. Moral of story, change that fuel filter once in awhile.

I paid $80.00 to have it towed, $106.00 fuel pump, $13.00 fuel pump relay switch, $10.00 fuel filter, $15.00 for the filter sock that goes on the fuel pump, and $15.00 for new hose from tank to filler neck. I got tired of fighting it, and cut it off. I could have got by without the relay switch, but wanted to make sure it was not the switch. The parts people reccomend to put in a new relay switch with new fuel pump anyway. The shop wanted $176.00 for the pump, and $212.00 for labor after I diagnosed it, but would have still needed the fuel filter. They probably could have reused the hoses, since they could get it higher in the air. I could not even blow through the old fuel filter. Change those fuel filters once in awhile. I know better!
