My bonny dead at last, any advice?
My bonneville can not be start on the past Sunday. The situation was quite like what it did last Xams that the starter did not work. Since the starter is still with warranty, just towned it back to the mechanic. The guy call me today. I just surprise how quickly he did but that guy told me there was a bad news: it not just the starter. He said the mortor lock up or tranny lock up and he don't know until seperated and tested. He told me the part about 500$ to 700$ and labor around 500$ to 700$ too. Totally up to 2000$.
My god, do I have to let him repair for me? Is it any possible I can repair myself? Are this problem is really so expensive as what he told me?
If I just sell this car as it is, how much do you think I can ask? Or if I sell parts on ebay, how much I can get?
My car is 94 SE.
Thanks for all you.

What exactly happened when you turned the key? Nothing? Turning over but no start? Just a click? Just starter spinning?
It would be very odd if the transmisison kept it from starting.

The mechanic showed me how hard to turn the axis with a wrench. The he told me there was something lock up.

The axis? Did he put a wrench on the crank pulley, the big one on the bottom? It should NOT be easy to turn on a healthy engine. It should turn, but not easy. If it did turn, it'* not locked up. Ask him to let you try to turn it.
The big gear that the starter turns is the flywheel.
A single KANG is not a good sign. Maybe a second opinion is in order here, but the towing to another shop would be expensive in itself.

Turn to which direction? Clockwise or anticlockwise?

For clockwise, it move hard but still can move a little. For the anticlockwise, almost can not move.
Do you think the engine looks not flat is a problem? I do worry if it because I lower the car from the jack too quickly.

How long of a wrench handle did you use? I was talking with respect to a two foot long wrench.
How not flat is the engine? Mine is a tad higher on the driver side. I think my passenger side motor mount is sagging a little.
