Default Sticky throttle...MAN, I need some encouragement...

OK, as you guys may remember, I have bonne for almost 40 days and use her for commute of 130 miles round trip for almost 25 days. Don't get me wrong, I like her.

But...first it took me a long while to get the wheel stud out. Then it misfired--fixed with new plugs and wires and a bottle of fuel injection system cleaner. Now it appears that she has a throttle stuck close first thing in the morning. From what I learned here so far, I need to clean the throttle body. It seems not that difficult but kind of delicate to me...The drive belt is due for a change and I found this is the worst belt to change in the world...The right anti-sway bar link was also broken and I should change it too. But the bolts are so rusty that I decided to put it off for a little bit. It'* not that useful anyway.

Man, all small problem...But I hate to do them at one time now...now I have more time on weekend but the wife is not very supportive...She would rather spend 5 times more on a newer car...

Please give me some encoragement and some suggestion on what to do first. I think belt sould be first one, then TB, then link....Thanks!

fix your sticky gas pedal first, this is a potentially dangerous situation. Next would be the belt.

are you sure the gas pedal problem is the tb, I've seen floor mats bunched up in there do strange things.

Thanks! I did check the floor mats and they are fine. Dirty TB is the best I can think of after searching here. So I think it'* most likely the case. Some people have the same problem as mine here too.

Well, I feel that both the throttle and belt are kind of dangerous. But because the throttle only sticks first thing in the morning so far and it sticks CLOSE not open, I feel safer with it. Anyway, will try to clean TB and change belt this weekend.

My son-in-law'* 00 GP had a sticking throttle first thing after sitting for a while. It went away after a good throttle body cleaning during the UIM/LIM repair.
