Default reading 94 3800 n/a codes

Since my last tune up about a month ago my 94 lesabre has been throghing and SES light occasionally, and it varies under different driving conditions. YOu could drive it like a bat out of hell, and it won't come on, and then u can drive it like a little old lady and it will. All the gauges, temp, alt, oil are fine on the dash, car doesn't run with any problems when the light is on. So i don't want to pay for a dealer to read the code for me when theres nothing blatenly wrong with it. I know the trick listed in the techinfo stops at model year 93, i was wondering if anyone has had sucess with it in a 94, I don't want to screw it up.

Thanks
Michael
