Default Reprogramming the Keyless remote for 1993 SSEI

Funny thing happened to me. I was at a parking lot when a grand prix parked next to my 1993 SSEI Bonneville and when the owner of the Grand Prix popped opened his Trunk, it opened mine as well. In that instant my Keyless remote stopped working while his opened and closed all my locks and trunk. Now that my keyless remote stopped working, I want to reprogram it back to recognize my keyless remote. I looked on this website on how to reprogram my remote and i was confused. The DATA Link is it the same thing as the socket you plug in the OBD I scanner. My Data Link socket I believe is a 16 terminal socket like an OBDII. If it is the same one, then which numbers should I link together with a paper clip, because the directions on this form is still unclear: 1) Find the data link connector under the edge of the dashboard, an open
socket with two rows of ports in it. Using any handy jumper wire (a bent
paper clip will do), jumper together the upper-right and lower-left ports to
put the car into programming mode . The upper right and lower left ports are which numbers on the terminal.

[Yes your right, its the 12 pin ALDL. Thanks. So I am looking at the right thing then when reprogrammin the keyless remote. You know whats funny is, I went to go look to see if my Data Link was a 12 or 16 pin and my dog gone keyless remote started working again without doing anything to it. Weird. This Bonne of mine seems to like to fix itself. But my question is why do others remote work on my Bonne. I had another person with a different car this time (2004 Chevy malibu) keyless remote work on my 1993 SSEI Bonneville - (next door neighbors friend). She was controlling my door locks and trunk. Why is this?

You should have the 12 pin ALDL[/quote]

Thank ya, I reprogrammed like you said and it works fine. But I just wonder if others with different remotes will activate it, Its funny my girlfriend just the other day. started messing with someones 2003 grand prix while he was in the parking lot and making his alarm go off. He finally was Like "hey stop that who ever is doing that" it was funny but at the same token, my remote is starting to activate other vehicles aswell.
