Default Just got my new 95

Hey all...I just got a 95 bonne. It runs great, nice pick up on steep hills and takes corners beautifully. My question is, I got it from a private owner who had the oil changed every 3000 and overall has kept it in pretty good condition without any major mechanical issues. I believe it has a new alternator, maybe some new belts, and possibly a new oil pan and gasket.

Should I take it to a mechanic to have a once over on it (maybe should have thought of that before I bought the car dumba&*)

Should I leave it and wait till I have problems?

It has 145,500 miles on it...runs quietly...runs at about a 210-220 temp and has new tires. I have looked under the hood while running and hear nothing abnormal, I have looked under the car while running and not and don't see any dripping or leaks. The coolant level stays the same...and the tranny fluid and oil are the proper pink and ambur colors respectively. I know its an older car but if I take care of it and do the necessary preventive maintenance...I should get at least another 50 or 60 K out of it right?

Basically...any advice or suggestions from experienced bonne owners that know cars would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I'm not very experienced, but I can tell you, my trans has around 170K on it, and I have the same one as you. That I know will last you.

You have the 3800 Series II engine in it, with the plastic intake manifold.

Be sure to watch the coolant level carefully - it it loses coolant and there'* no visible leaks anywhere, chances are that there'* coolant in the oil and you'd need to replace the intake manifold and change to oil, before some major engine damage occurs. This is a common problem with those engines, very possible their weakest point.
