Default Moaning and clicking from front end.

Mick brought to my attention that there was a noise coming from the front end of the car yesterday. I took it for a test drive and noticed it was making a moaning sound which seems to come from the front driver’* side. The more I picked up speed the louder and greater the vibration was. It increased with speed not rpm, so it leads me to believe it'* not engine related. I also noticed that when I backed into the driveway and turned the steering to my left to aid in backing up that it also made a clicking sound.
This leads me to believe that it'* either wheel bearing or CV joint. I replaced both less than a year ago so I'm wondering if I installed one or both incorrectly or maybe they're defective. Mick has the car at work so I'll have to check when he gets home. Could I be missing something?

This car is going to drive me to drink.

Check the backing plate..on the rotor...

Otherwise..first thoughts would be the same as you have.

I agree with bill.

As far as the parts being installed just a year ago, I wouldn't count them out at all. I have had brand a new cv axle fail in a week because of a manufacturing defect. Even many parts with a lifetime warranty aren't really built all that well, it all depends on the brand.

I'll ckeck the backing plate Bill, Mick did mention that the sound seems to be getting louder.

crash93ssei, the CV joint is a name brand and was installed 3 1/2 months ago. The front wheel bearing was purchased online with a lifetime warranty, but that doesn't help me in Canada, and was installed 8 months ago. Either way, I have to check:

Front Bearing.
CV Joint
Backing Plate.

Both Mick and I took it to an open parking lot when he got home and drove in circles both forward and backwards with the steering both cranked and not. It didn't make any sounds what so ever. I even took it back to my driveway and drove it the exact same way when it made the same noise the day before and still nothing. Sort of like when you take your car to the mechanic and it doesn' t do what you brought it in for. I'll try again tomorrow.
