Default Glove Box Vent -- common for it to pop out?

Another quick question.....my left hand side vent on the glovebox is very loose to the point where it will pop out if you open the glovebox. I looked at the actual vent piece that popped out and it doesn't appear the plastic is broken anywhere, so the piece looks good. Is this a common problem?

Thanks guys.....you were right! I didn't look hard enough. A small, maybe 1cm piece popped off. I'll just order another vent and hope it isn't too ridiculously expensive....

Thanks and Happy Holidays.

Same thing happened to me and I pulled the needed part at the junk yard. I don't remember it costing me more than $10.

Are we talking just the little grill part? Or the whole assembly, frame and all?

Mine had the whole vent assembly pop out -- frame and all. I think I'll probably hit a junkyard first to see if I can scavenge one up.

I was actually hoping it was the entire frame, because a bit of glue would be you're easiest fix. Something like silicone or rubber cement, only on the side where it'* broken, and only a small to medium dot. Just barely enough to hold it in. That way, if you ever need to remove it it wont be necessary to fight it too hard.

This past Saturday I was cleaning my glove box and when I closed it the left vent popped out...I just snaped it back in place. That morning I had went to the junk yard to replace the rear air vents, which are broken. I was able to find just one and it has a small crack which can be glued. It seem that they are always breaking, because a lot of the junked cars have them broken as well. Another reason it seems they get broken is when you have passangers in the back!
