Default Need pics.

Could someone with a 97 SSEi, and a 98/99 SSEi take a few pictures of the firewall connection for the engine wiring harness (the one behind the alternator, under the plastic cover). I need to compare the pin setup to my 96 so I can figure out what year harness would be the easiest to use for my tranny swap. Thanks.

Aaron..you'll need the manuals for that. Or since you are looking for 97, PM Randman1...he mapped that connector out during the Frankenbonne swap.

Honestly..the look of the harness is the same... big square black plastic with a spaghetti mess of wires.

ELMACHOGERACHO also has done a lot of research and there was another person..I forget their name. Search on wiring harness and elmacho... you'll findi it.

Yeah, they all do look the same in that sense. I was hoping the part where it plugs in is the same. I have a junked wiring harness from a '97 Riviera, and the setup was almost identical with the exception of one wire/plug, so I'm hoping that the harness from a '97 SSEi will be a perfect match.

Ahhh... most likely yes. Randman was making a connector of sorts to convert the 97 to a 90 and I think he found a 91 at the yard. A few wires were in different cavities..but it was all good in the end.

This is really the last problem that needs to be worked out before I can go ahead with the swap here in a few weeks, and going with a 97 computer and harness should minimize the amount of rewiring that needs to be done. Lots of pics will be taken during the swap of course.
