Problems with 1997 SSE
The power steering pump went out today. The fuel guage went out yesterday. The battery is leaking. Stuff is not going well for the Bonneville. Can you guys tell me where the fuel sending unit is for the gas gauge? That is most likely the problem. We have about 92k miles on the car so its about time it went bad. I have seen other posts. Can you tell me what is involved in changing the power steering pump? I see it, but to be honest I really had to look for it. The people doing the service for the car were supposed to be checking the fluid levels and well since its empty, I doubt they did. It is probably burned up. I put fluid in it today, but there is some white milky stuff floating around in it. What do I do about that?
The battery I can handle. I took it out of my vette before it started leaking. Now it has leaked in the Pontiac. Who would have thought it?
Thanks for your help! Everyone chime in. I love this car. I know its lame about the fluid in the pump, but I thought it was being checked.

Thanks Willwren!
Maybe that will help me with the fuel guage. It has not stopped working. Its just not right. What about the power steering? Is there some way to drain the fluid and start over? That is what I am going to do first and then go from there with it.
Everyone jump right in. I'm not proud, I don't know anything about this particular car. It has been practically no trouble so I have just let the maintenance people take care of it. Now that'* over.
Turbo5 Needs help please!
