Wicked intermitent oversteer!!!!!
backround of car,
- I just replaced the rack and pinon, and upgraded the sway bar to the firm ride, on both front and back, with new neoprene bushings from energy suspension.
- All four tires with 50% tread and at 32 PSI.....
- just had the car in for a 4 wheel alignment, camber caster check, and 4 wheel balance.
problem. as i go aroung a right sustaind turn for instance on an off ramp or county road, i get a sudden and dangerous oversteer.......the car seems like it wants to dive into the turn........it either feels like the rack is being overboosted or the someting is slipping....no nosie is noted, no clunks, or knocks...or vibration, just one hell of a wicked oversteer,
once i let pressure off of the corner, it goes right back to normal......left turns seem like im on rails, aboslutly no problem..........(i can take a "25mph ramp" at 70 mph no sweat )

Sounds like your tires are letting go on rights, as i don't know what else (save steering) could cause that. maybe rotate the tires, and if it stops you can rule that out.

Check to make sure they didnt screw up any of your linkages.. since it intermittent it could seem to be your inside tire changing direction just so slightly to pull the car harder in.
Or if they changed your camber it could be adjusted so that when the car shifts its weight one of your tires REALLY hooks up?
Other than that i would say steering... the rack might let the tires turn in a bit more with jus tthe right force when your mid turn without you feeling the wheel turn any? (My dad has a similar problem to this one i listed on his truck)
Just fililng the pot with possible ideas....

AHA! You have intermittent Rear-Steer problems! Your error light must have burned out!
That would cause exactly what you describe... steering normally then WHOA tons of steering!
ok im done

When you replaced your rack & pinion, did you place your tie rod ends or was a whole new set up?? May also want to check your K frame bolts for the proper torque. I had it work loose once after my tranny swap.....that one still has me be-futtled.

I'm going to say that you have a ball-joint going out. I have this exact same problem with my 1989 Lesabre and I changed the axles thinking it was them (one of them was bad, but wasn't causing this problem), switched to 16" wheels from the original 14" wheels, put in a STB, changed the front transmission mount, and am going to be doing my front sway-bar swap within the week.
To verify it'* a bad ball joint jack the right front of the car up (I suspect it'* a right ball joint if it'* like mine -I can feel the wheel give way, and come back) and grab hold of the tire at the 9 and 3 O'clock -positions. Give the tire some good jerks forward and backward. If no major movement switch hands to the 12 and 6 o'clock position and repeat. If no movement here either, then it may not be a ball joint.

cool ill give that a try ol blue eyes, probably tommarow, the tie rods are origonal bit still good according to the dealer (ill trust them on that becasue why would they not want me to replace those,, they want to make money?)
thats the other prob, the car bogs down and slightly vibrates wene i turn the while when im not moving at all.......pump for power strearing is origonal
the rear tires eh? i dont know, not much was done to them other than the firm ride sway bar install
ill problably try a tire rotation first........then jack it and try the ball joint test that ol blue eyes said.......and then all i need to know is where is the Kframe bolt or bolts...do those attach the subframe that holds the trasmison and engine to the body?
thanks so much for all the imput.......if none of this elliminates the prob i might take it to an aliginmaet place.......
