First problem in a while
I was driving home from college just now and drving kinda hard i will add. And i went wot and it was liek the car hit a wall at 4,000 rpms. Almost a complete loss of power, it had all it wanted to to gain speed and rpms. I let it cool down alittle and tried it again and could only get it to 71mph and it had no more power. It had done this last summer a few times but went away. I thought the kitty (cat) was the problem but before i replacd it the problem went away. What do you guys think?

If the pressure is low, as reccomended replace the filter... If you have not done this yet, it may be part of the problem... Should run about $10 for a fuel filter and is easily replaced if the line is not rusted...
So Replace the Fuel Filter, If the O2 is original and is about shot and has the Puter thinking its actually rich, The computer could lean out the mix... Which brings me to another question, Has the SES come on at all?
The MAF could be another issue as well...
Check the Fuel pressure and tell us what you find
