Fuel Injector O-Ring parts confusion
I'm finally R&R my engine, and while hunting for parts buy two different packages of fuel injector o-rings. The ones I need are the 'black' for the fuel rail, but I was sold too-small green ones by AutoZone and right-size green ones by Advance.
Here are the part numbers I have:
Thick Green (12 rings) GP Sorensen 800-9220
Thin Green (12 rings) GP Sorensen 800-9214
I think the thin ones should go back because they're far too skinny to fit. Both ends should be the same size, just different colors according to the factory book.
Was there a change so all are now green? Why are there 12 and not only 6?
Can anyone help with the corrent Part Number for the black upper rings?
Thanks!

We have no clue what engine you have in your car in order to help you.
Can you tell us what you have (year and trim level, supercharged or not)? Can you put that in your signature?
I can tell you if you have a 92-95 L67, you need GM part number 17113544, and you'll have parts left over in the kit. The 92-94 L27 may be the same. Unsure if it'* the same kit for the 96-current L36 or L67.

I understand what we are talking about. Had a similar experience.
No idea why they have them listed....return those skinny ones, they are wrong.

Thanks for the tip, willwren. Now my '94 SE is in my signature.
Do I need to find "Black" O-Rings or are they all 'GREEN' now?
Thanks!

Looks like long #17113544 crosses to AC Delco # 217-1379 @ $14.00 a set.
http://198.208.187.182/internet/Vehi...e=22&part=6232
It says, “ Blue o-ring can be used for black or brown o-rings”.
Delco shows the o-ring set for my 96 L36 is # 217-454 and cost $36.47.
Sure would be nice to know what rubber compound GM is using for these two sets???

I just changed my fuel injector seals about 4,000 miles ago.
I got them from NAPA and they were all black, and sold in packs of 4 for like 3 dollars and change. The top and bottom rings are the exact same, but you ahve to make sure they give you the injector O-rings and not the fuel rail o-rings or any of that because theyre for something totally different...this also happened to me, and yes they were both green...

i do have one problem though...i replaced the seals because the orignals were leaking pretty bad, and the new ones fixed alot of that. the problem is they're still leaking fuel from the bottom...i think it could be form the high boost pressure when im at WOT...anything i could do to seal it up?
