Default Hood Won't Latch

I can't get the hood to latch.

I was having an issue with getting the hood open. I finally did and lubed the crap out of the mechanisms, but now I can't get it to latch closed. The latch pin looks straight and is tight. All the mechanisms seem to move freely. Of course, you can't see a darn thing in there with the hood down.

I removed the rubber stops from the posts and with the hood down as far as I can get it, neither post is touching the hood.

Any ideas?

Instead of lowering the hood try putting the shaft of a philips screwdiver in the latch. That way you should be able to see what'* wrong.

Also, check to be sure that the latch isn't already in the latched position.
