Default Fixed hesitation and accel trouble MAF

I'd posted about this before. The car would stutter and hesitated everytime I first took off down the road, hot or cold motor. [Within the 1st 1/8 mile.] You could feather the throttle and get it to surge forward. After about 10 or 15 seconds it would clear up. At highway speeds or on ramps it accellerated very poorly, lucky to get to 60 by the time I hit the freeway. Couldn't pass for sh*t.

Answer: The MAF sensor. I cleaned the little bugger, never did that in the ten years of owning the 91 Regal, 3.1.

It'* hard to believe that only the amount of dirt under one thumb nail (after a grimmy day of work) could be all the difference in the world. It was accumulated on only the tall wire post. The short one was spotless.

I can imagine the cost if I'd taken it in for diagnostics and repair. $150+ I'll bet!!
Anyway, to those who aren't true motorheads like me, Clean it!!!!
Fuel filter is next.------I'm getting there.....slowly.

Could you possibly update the original thread. That way when people search in the future the solution is with the problem.

I checked the search and apparently I posted the previous troubles along with someone else'* motor trouble, ergo my original post here.. Check search for my posts and you will see no posts on that subject for me.

Ok, then, could you please add (MAF) to the title of this post? That way, the symptoms and the fix are in a more searchable format, and you will have helped out all those searching for help in the future. Thanks
