218,000 just put a new transmission 4 mths ago.

I hope thats Km, if so she'll be still banging nicely if you go easy on her. Id suggest using a product called Lucas Oil Stabalizer, it pretty much makes the oil thicker and more glue like to manuever through every component in the engine.
Id also do frequent oil changes with 10w40 in your situation.

Nope, miles!! My dad had a '94 that was over 250,000 and still going strong until it got caught in a house fire. My husband is a fanatic about oil changes and maintanance. His '94 Dakota has 190,000 miles on it and he drives to work and back every day. With the transmission, plenum, pulley, belts, radiator, tires, windshield all this year I have almost $4,000.00 in it and just want to make it another couple of years. If I have to put in another engine after all this I'll want to keep it another 5 years. I just can't stand a car payment!
