Default Cleaning the Throttle body

I removed my throttle body this weekend for cleaning. I was able to remove all the deposits from behind the throttle plate and back into the throat of the intake manifold but I didn't know how for to go. I could see deposits back inside the intake manifold but didn't know a good way of removing them. I didn't want to take a chance of knocking the deposits loose into the intake manifold. How far is far enough?

You probably went far enough. The deposits near the butterfly valve are the ones that disturb the air flow the most. Did it help at all?

Wouldn't the GM Top Engine Clean be good for cleaning the rest of the intake, etc?

i did my TB clean on the weekend - noticable improvement in power under boost and smoothness at idle. Oh, I did remove the MAF screen as well, maybe that helps.

I found the gunk inside the manifold was baked on, I couldnt remove it. The stuff in the TB came off real easy with the TB cleaner.

Do you suck in the GM Top Engine Cleaner thru a vaccumm hose the same way you do with Sea Foam. The last time I used Sea Foam I was almost ran out of my neighborhood by my neighbors.

You can pour Sea Foam directly into the gas tank or you can suck it into the TB, down stream of the MAF sensor, causing the engine to stall. Let it sit for a while then start the engine and watch the smoke pour out of your tailpipe.
