Default Remove belt.....

I want to check the pulleys on the '96 and have a rookie question. In the FSM, to get the belt off it says to "push down" on the tensioner pulley bolt with a 15mm wrench. That would mean a clockwise rotation of the bolt if I "push down" from the front of the engine. Am I understanding that right? Isn't that bolt threaded lefthanded?

Yes...counterclockwise to remove tension (reverse threaded) Clockwise will loosen the bolt.

Thanks. I corrected a misspeak in my post, but you confirmed what I was asking.

It is an interesting affair, isn't it?. The "push down" would occur with the wrench on the bolthead, wrench facing toward the firewall. (silly GM engineers ).
