Default MSD troubles

Finally got my car into the shop.
Just to re-cap - after I replaced my EGR valve, my car continued to idle horribly and stumble upon acceleration just the way it did before I got the new EGR.
Well., my mechanics diagnosis was a bad ignition coil. Again. I have MSD'*, they're about 2 years old. I had to replace one about a month ago, and now another one went. I also swapped ICM'*. Aren't they suppose to last a bit longer than 2 years?
I ran on a bad coil once before and my car wasn't this aweful. I mean, it doesn't get out of it'* own way! And the scary thing is, it will stall randomly no matter what speed I am going. It will stall at a stand still, or even driving 50 mph. It shutters in OD as well. So I have to try my best to keep it out of OD...not so fun. I was thinking TPS, but I'll pick up a coil tomorrow morning and put it in with my fingers crossed.

Did you buy them new? And how long ago? I recall a bad production run they had 3 years or so ago.

My coils are almost 3 years old, and have never given me fits.

I bought the set of 3 brand new from Summit 2 or 2 1/2 years ago. One went bad a month or so ago, I replaced that and tomorrow I'll be replacing another.

Random stalling could be a ground issue, I think. Like the ICM ground maybe.

i checked all the wires, unplugged and cleaned the ICM, installed the new coil and my car started and ran beautifully. i think i may have an exhaust leak at the downpipe b/c it sounds like a v6 raspy camaro..but i'll leave that for another topic.
anyway - on my car ride in, everything is still going great for about 3 miles. then my car stalls and won't start back up. it cranks just fine, but won't fire. i had this problem before, and it was the MAF sensor, but that it new.
i did check the ICM again, nothing out of the ordinary.

i just don't get it.

Chris.. triple check the connector at the ICM. If it'* loose at all or not bolted firmly, you could lose fueling (Sandrock) or spark (Highlander).

On my way to work this morning...same thing happened once again. Stalled on me, didn't want to start back up. I didn't have time to look at anything as I had to be at work to open up the parts dept. Mad techs = one bad day.
One thing I forgot to mention is - lately my alarm has been fussy. Sometimes it won't lock the doors. And occasionally the door lock switch won't work. Now this is intermittent. Obviously my car is having electrical issues, but like I said, I had no time to investigate.
Ironically, my car died right in front of a chevy dealership, so they are looking at it.

That kinda makes sense. My Neon did the same thing to me while I was stationed in Guam. Took dang near 3 weeks for that pump to arrive on the island

Make sure the fuel filter is changed too. Ooooo....a supercharged car with a fresh fuel pump...
