Climate control ***** slipping
my vent control **** turns without operating the vent controls when the car is cold. It works ok when warmed up. The **** doesn't appear to be loose (does not slide off the shaft) -is this a control problem? Anybody had experience with these?

Pull the **** off with some needle-nose pliers and look inside it. One of the plastic tabs inside might be broken. This happened to my vent control ****. I "fixed" it by swapping it with my temperature control ****. The temperature control dial requires less torque so the crippled **** will turn it without slipping.

I pulled off the **** with a pliers. The tab had broken off. I squirted some JB weld in there and put the **** back on. Works great! Thanks. (JB Weld was probably overkill!)
