Default Trunk latch

Tonight..i had all my stuff in there, closed just fine, got joels stuff in there, it wouldnt close, so we emptied some..it still wont close, it bounces back open, and i do know about if the latch itself remains in the closed position.it will do this, however it was not...i took the good latch off of my 93 and installed it into my 97, fit perfectly...still wont..so the trunk is cleverly tarp strapped shut from underneath between the bumper and ACC panel..
Any suggestions..car is going to oregon tomorrow at 4am..shouldnt be an issue though..

Did you open it with the button on the door? I've had mine stick which frustrated me until I started thinking about how I had one that had gotten soda in it an gummed it up so it stuck in my old 92 SE.

Hit the unlock button and make sure its not jammed.

If nothing else, we'll fix it at the meet

Matt'* latch will be the first thing we look at when they get here tonight. Assuming we can find the latch hidden in all his stuff in the trunk.
