Well as I've been reading, I'm not the only one with problems when it comes to rain leaks. Recently I've been pulling gallons of water out of the rear passenger side floorboard. Fed up with this I pulled the carpet up finding it not only wet there it was wet pretty much everywhere.

So I threw out the under padding which is ruined, and sat in the car with my buddy hosing it down. We discovered 3 leaks so far, the front passenger side door, the rear passenger side door and the front drivers side down the firewall.

The first two are pretty straightfoward, I've been using silicone caulk to seal up where I think the water is getting in and using the weather stripping as a hose to drain into the cab. I also took off the weather stripping, cleaned it, and reapplied it with this rubber cement.

The drivers side fire wall has me a little puzzled however. I'm not quite sure how to approach it. My buddy is convinced that the water is getting in here, where the previous owner decided to run cables for a system through. Is this a likely cause, or is there another possible reason I may not be aware of yet?

I know my fixes may seem a bit ghetto, but I'm new to car ownership as well as being poor (having sunk most of my money into this car already) and unemployed. Can anyone throw me any suggestions?

Also I forgot I had a couple other questions. Where can I purchase replacement under padding for when this ordeal is over? And can someone recommend something better to use for reapplying the weatherstripping as I'm not sure that rubber cement is going to do any good.

One thing that can drain in to that side of the car is the EVAP drain. Check in tech info about EVAP cleaning and you will find a reference to the drain tube.

Alright, Thank you very much. I will look into this drain asap. Generally speaking whereabouts is it located? And what is your recommended approach to cleaning it? I apologize for my noobishness, but your write up focused mainly on the core.

As I said, it only references it. But it will show you where to look. Bottom of the EVAP, just run a small wire threw it to clean it out.

Do you have a Sunroof? If you do, looking at the picture it looks like I see wire run through what looks like the sunroof drain. Not sure though. If you have a sun roof, pour a little water in the left front drain hole with the sunroof open and see if water comes out at that location.

Sorry, I don't have a sunroof. Strictly hardtop. To clarify, that picture is from under the hood not from the interior. Thanks for the input though.

While I'm posting, does anyone have a link to detailed instructions on taking off the door panels? I want to cover all my bases on this and peeking in through the cracks it looks like the plastic sheet liner inside the door isn't secured.

I noticed in the article they didn't mention anything about the door lock or speaker wire connectors. Pop the door lock/window switch out of the panel. Use a flat head screwdriver and pry up at the bottom to lift it out, disconnect it and set it aside. This will facilitate removing the panel easier.
