Default LIM Gaskets.

Alright......Doing the LIM gaskets tomorow on the bonne so I can get back to a 20 mpg car vs my 12 mpg truck.

Anyone done this on a SI SSEi that knows what parts and or numbers that I'm gonna need to complete this task. Any pointers?

If you're doing it tomorrow, you should have already ordered your parts. Off the top of my head:

TB gasket
SC gasket
2 coolant bypass (yellow) o-rings
Fuel injector o-ring kit
4-piece LIM set

Also suggest an EGR gasket so you can do maintenance on that at the same time.

You can get a kit from most major auto parts stores that includes most of these items. I strongly encourage you to stick with Fel-Pro or AC Delco gaskets. You MUST have a torque wrench to do this.

I guess that there isn't any way to do this without separating the */C from the LIM?? Seeing how everything but the LIM was done under a year ago, even the EGR.

Actually, yes, you can remove the LIM and the SC as one unit -just remove the bolts for the LIM to the heads, as well as disconnecting all the other pertinent items (vacuum lines, sensors, fuel lines.....).

Right. Not an elbow, but a straight fitting (barb on one end, threads on the other). OEM is plastic, dealer should have a metal replacement in stock.

Awesome......But I don't have a plastic elbow on that anymore, mine is rubber.

That makes things a lot easier then. Just a lil heavier. Oh and yes, I do have an accurate torque wrench.

I think I already know the answer to this, but would it be safe to let my LIM saok in a pan of gasoline or parts cleaner for about an hour to clean everything off it while I swap the gaskets??
