The 2 lower bolts for the throttle body on my L27 are behind the heatshield. Is there a tool I can use or a way to remove the bolts WITHOUT removing the heat shield for the exhaust?

If not, how do you take the heat shield off, it appears to be attached by rivets.

I am stumped.

When I had my 93 and I used to clean the throttle body all I used to remove it is a box end wrench to get at those two lower bolts.

I never had to remove the heat shield as it never seemed to interfere. I have heard others say there is interferance but I never experienced. Get creative! Don't pull that heat shield unless you absolutely have to.

Don't fight it. Just pull the heatshield. Put the nuts back as each piece comes off so you don't mix them up. I've done 3 L27'*, and pulling the heatshield is the best route to take.

A previous owner may have put it together differently. The throttle cable bracket is behind the heatshield. NORMALLY.

There was minor interference when I tried to take them off but I got it off nonetheless.

what is the easiest way to remove the heatshield? Looks nasty.

Remove 2 nuts. Both studs are mounted to the rear head.
