P0341 code solved
Hi:
Just thought I would post the solution we found on an intermittent and difficult to find random P0341 trouble code. Was occurring randomly and began more frequently over the last couple months, until the point where it happened everyday every time it was driven. If I cleared the code while driving, it would return. Car would generally run okay so did not appear to affect the driveability.
P0341 is camshaft sensor, but in reading posts it seemed like that was seldom the issue, so we were reluctant to start chasing things. In the recent past had replaced coils, crank sensor, plugs, wires, etc...
With vehicle having 250k miles on the odometer, decided to relace the IGM. Ignition control module. Car started excellent and began to run better, even though we thought it was okay. Hasn't thrown a code now in over 3 weeks and 1,000 miles.
Sometimes electronic issues and codes are so inter-related that it is difficult to find the root cause. This appears to have solved our issue. Obviously, this just indicates and confirms that electronic glitches can be hard to find and might sometimes be not where or what you expect.

Engine generally ran okay however seemed to have random issues of poor idle, random killing when shifting from park to drive or reverse, random cold idle issues, random hot idle issues. Just intermittent random issues, yet like I said new plugs, rebuilt injectors, wires, coils, clean MAF sensor, new fuel filter, PCV, etc...basically all that type of stuff replaced. Car was better after replacing these items, but still not 100%. Also compression tested, etc...
Apparently one of the malfunctioning items was the IGM. Most likely some of the other items we replaced were in a weakened state. We also got the P0305 type codes too along with the P0341 code. In the end, I think it was multiple things stacking together out of tolerance, and not just one thing. When we swapped with other known used good parts, we still got the codes. Only when we put in new, did the codes go away.
I'm not recommending this, just simply stating that in this case, this is what worked. We had somewhat given up trying to figure it out until something finally gave out. Lately we noticed the car started hesitating when it got hot, and thru the P0341 code, so in a moment of frustration was going to replace either the IGM or PCM as those were the last items. Changed the IGM and like I said no problem since and car runs like it has 20K miles on it.

Hey just to give more info of my experience on trouble code 341 on this old post:
1998 Buick Century 110,000 miles:
Car not running as it should, wanting to stall at times and check engine light came on. Only code in scanner was 341.
So unbolted through pulley wheel holes/swung power steering pump out of the way and replaced Cam shaft sensor.
Cleared code 341 with scanner. Code came back.
So replaced ignition control module since it can be suspect as stated above and is cheap part.
Code came back.
So cleared code and disconnected Both battery posts with 8mm wrench and touched both battery neg pos cables to each other to totally drain any remaining voltage in system.
Reconnected.
Code has not come back.
SO be sure to touch both battery cables together after disconnecting from battery of a code is stubborn to go away is what I learned.
Take care
