Default Water leak??

When one of my friends got into the back passenger side seat he noticed that the floor was very wet and it was water....it had jus rained like the day b4 but the question is where did this water come in? :? i cleaned it up and it was perfectly dry but like 2 weeks later when i was cleaning it i noticed it was damp again. it had rained the day b4 and i had jus washed it. i checked the seal around the door..looked ok the sunroof was good too i dont know where it could be coming from i looked underneath but it was hard to tell what i was looking for. have any of u guys had this problem or something? thanks

Hmm well if you say it ONLY happens after rainfall and not any other time..... I would check the floorpan where the seat is mounted and up towards the kickpan... Sometimes you might get a hole from bottoming out but I doubt it... Uhmm make sure the seal around the door is tight and no wear... Other then that I would say heater core... but you said only after it rains... Sorry I am not much help but I cannot think from where else it would come from.

Your two most likely leak areas are:

1. The pillar drain tubes for the sunroof trough (when rain gets in, it drains out the pillars through little tubes.....when they get clogged up, they 'overflow' into the car)

2. The rear window seal at the bottom where the glass meets the rubber. This is where mine was leaking, and I just sealed it less than an hour ago with clear RTV. A little tiny bead, then worked it in with my finger, and wiped off the excess. I'll bet your spare tire well is full of water too.

There'* also another possibility. On my'93 SSEi, water leaked around the driver'* door seal, and once it got inside the side of the floor pan, it flowed down and back to the rear floor pan. The door seal looked ok, but it wasn't...

Remove your rear pillar trim. Right behind the rear edge of the rear doors. I can't remember if there'* drain tubes in the front pillars or not.

Yes, just a little bead of clear silicone rtv on the back window, right where it meets the glass.

Yeah check your trim around you door. Push it up and make sure there isnt a gap.. I had a gap in mine and I always got soaked going thru the car wash.... I pushed it back up and I was leak free... :? :?

Sunroof drains: Disconnected, broken, clogged, or kinked.

ok i finally got around to checking out this stuff today....there are front sunroof pillar drains and they worked fine water drained out perfectly.....ummm i looked at the door seals again and this is kinda hard to explain but on the front passenger side door at the top left corner the part that holds the seal and such has like fallen down a little like i can push it back up but its really hard to and it jus comes down again. the seal on the top right corner of my backdoor on the passenger side is similar but not as bad and same with the one in like the left corner. ill try to get some pics bc i dont have a digital camera but my friend does. ummm i also looked at the carpet closer and u can almost see a little water like run like its darker and like a line....i looked at the front passenger door top left corner from the inside and i can see light coming through so i take that as a bad sign....ill completely figure this out next time i wash it but for now what do u guys think? and if it is this seal how do i fix it? take it to the dealer?? ill get some pics soon. thanks!
