Self inflicted belt squeal
I've never had a belt squeal on my 97. Like yesterday when I was in the Mankato area looking for a car for my oldest daughter.( We did find a nice 01 Grand Prix, we originally were looking for another Bonnie) It rained cats and dogs, never a squeal. So today I thinks to my self, "Self, lets clean the SSEi'* motor today!"
I get out the Simply Green and head for the car wash. I'm soaking everything under there, going down beside, underneath what I can. Then I hit her with the pressure wash and man does it look good. I think I better let her drip dry a little while so I'm wiping stuff dry on top. 15 mins later I think that'* good enough, lets fire her up.
Sounded like fingernails on a chalk board. And it wasn't getting any better the more I let it go. So I head home, hoping nobody sees or recognizes me. I grab my can of Seafoam Deep Creep and just hit the belt for 1 millisecond and it stops immediately.
Then it comes back, so I soak it a little this time. Still squealing, let her set tonight. Hopefully it comes out of it, I would hate to have to put a belt in because of this
