Default Cylinder Numbering on Coils

Does the cylinder numbering on the 3 coils vary? I hope I can explain this where it makes sens.
I think my OE coil pack had a misprint on the center 2-5 coil, compared to those in one of the pix at this thread:
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...057001#1057001
Quick background: My OE coils had 1-2-3 for the front terminal of the coils and 4-5-6 on rears. (white numbers). They were/are paired just like everything else I see here. When I was troubleshooting a problem, I noticed I had installed the wires backwards (according to the white numbers) on the center 2-5 coil when I replaced the OE wires a year ago (one at a time, just like it came from the factory). So, I swapped those two wires, so #2 was on the front and #5 was on the back. After swapping the terminals during my weeks of problem chasing, that center coil failed, probably just a coincidence.

Now, I see a pix in my FSM that shows the center 2-5 coil numbered like those in the above thread, backwards from mine. This may sound petty, but I read up on the forward current on one plug while the other is backward current and how it takes more to fire in backward current and all. Am wondering if I might kill my replacement coil with them not agreeing with pictures...
I feel stupid asking, but if they are all numbered the same, I probably need to swap my 2-5 wires. Thanks

it actually doesn't matter if you swap the plug wires on each coil

i thought our coils fired both spark plugs on the same coil at the same time, even though it only fires one actual cylinder in the motor, the other just sparks into some exhaust gases, which they call waste spark ignition system. so then i guess switching #2 and #5 wouldn't hurt anything, same with 1 and 4, and 3-6

Thanks! Yup, my 2 & 5 are backwards. Appreciate the fast replies!

The CAN'T be backwards. They fire at the same time, every time. Swap 2 and 5, 3 and 6, or 1 and 4 and it doesn't matter at all.

We use a waste-spark ignition system.

After reading the theory page for the 4th time, I caught that polarity is fixed.. one plug always gets forward current and the other gets backwards current. And they make up for that in the coil. But "I wanna be like all the other kids." So will make it look like Harofreak'* picture, but without all that other neat stuff.
Thanks again.
