Remote lock/unlock question
I don't know if this is the right place to post this but....
My key fob and Jeff'* key fob for my 97 GP doesn't seem to have hardly any range to unlock/lock the doors. Today I noticed that I couldn't lock them while I was standing just outside of the door. Is there anything that can be done? If so, about how much would it cost to fix?

First thing to try is changing the battery. After that there are many other factors that can keep them from working well, weather being one of them.

Could be the RKE module going bad, And in the newer cars I think that is rare as opposed to the first generation like the 90-91 Bonnies( they tended to fail...lol )
Keep an eye on it and see if it gets better or worse...
The Keyless on my cousins 95 SLE still functions flawlessly

oh, this is for the GP. My daugters 2001 GP remote becomes inactive from time to time. All I do is a re-learn of the fob.

Tracy...we have the exact same issue with our 99. I had a thread going here a couple months ago about it.
You literally can only stand within 2 feet of the car to get the remote to work. That'* for both remotes. And, they each have new batteries. I cleaned the contacts inside of the remotes and still no dice.
We've just learned to deal with it. I'm thinking the module inside the car is getting weak. I haven't made it a priority to further investigate.
