Default Thud while accelerating

Hi all,

Anybody run into a thud sound when you first accellerate? happens in reverse as well.

Seams quite the rest of the time.

Yup, sure have.

It'* time to check the motor mounts. That'* the most common cause of a thud like you describe.

You will need some help. Have a friend hold down the brake, put it in gear and you watch the mounts for play. There will be some play but you don't want to see a lot. Watch for metal on metal contact.

I have this problem too. If I don't fix it for a while I'm not doing any serious harm, right?

Sure can...the mounts keep the drive train from flexing and damaging the tranny, and structural componenets.
