I just took my BVille to the shop because it died on the freeway and never started again and they said i had a cracked intake manifold and it was leaking coolant. what would be the symptoms of that problem (trying to make shure my shop isnt gettin over n just saying its that and its really a sensor or sumthin) also how much should that cost?? they quoted me 600... Thank you

If coolant is leaking into the cylinders (this would be a UIM gasket on a non supercharged engine) it can fowl the plugs and shut down the engine, if your lucky. If unlucky it hydrolocked and bent a rod. On a supercharged engine you can loose the LIM gaskets, this can leak in to the internal parts and damage bearings, but this is unlikley. Post your engine type and we can tell you more. The price is about right for a shop. You can do it yourself for about $100 and 3 hours of your time.

I have 1995 SE so It'* a 2nd gen 3800 non supercharged.... how hard is replacing the intake and how could i tell if the rods bent... also the most complicated repair ive ever done was a water pump on a 6banger truck so i'm not gonna be able to tackle the real advanced stuff
