Passenger grab handle removal
What I need to know is, is there a way to remove the rear passenger grab handles? I've got some shoddy wiring and now the dome lights on the rear passenger grab handle assembly won't light up when the doors are opened. The switch to turn the light on or off manually is jammed as well. And before some freak of nature tells me the light is blown, I took it out, replaced another light in a working fixture with it and it lit up just fine. Thanks for the help.

The rear grab handles have three "pins" that when pushed in, expand locking tabs on the back of the handle assembly. Two of them are above the handle (the handle actually rests against them in the up position) and the other is the outer portion of the garment hanger. Gently pry all three pins out. They can come all of the way out but really they only need to come out 1/2" or so. You should feel a positive stop when they are out far enough. Then gently pull outward as you wiggle the assembly up and down. As a last resort, use a broad faced tool to pry it away from the headliner. Use extreme caution to prevent damage to headliner and handle assembly.
I didn't take any pics when I renewed my headliner so I drew you a cross section sketch. It'* nothing fancy cause I'm not an artist. Maybe harofreak took some picks of his while they were out?

YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!! One of the damn clips gave me trouble and I mutilated it a bit, nothing that a little dremel time won't fix though. I fould out what was wrong with the light. The switch broke and the piece of metal used to conduct the current fell out. I'm a little puzzled though, I held it up where the "on" position would be and it lit up (yeah) and then put it on the "off" position and all the other doom lights except that one lamp came on. Uh. . . whats going on?
