Awesome thanks! I found this forum for the cam sensor and how to check the interuptor https://www.gmforum.com/1987-1991-93...emself-190434/ is there any way to test the icm or the coil? Or do i just have to get a new one and hope thats it?

its not the coil if it wont start it will run on 4. the icm is a possibility some parts stores can test it. the other is crank sensor, it will run with the cam sensor bad or unplugged. its difficult to get to but the magnet on that can be an issue as well, i think you can test it with a meter at the icm plug though.

No i tested it close to the icm terminal...
I should probably check those cables for continuity.

i think i read somewhere that the sensor has to be aligned. so there is that possibility or being bad new, or the wires to the icm like you said

I believe 92 is the last year that the alignment was variable. Beyond that the alignment was fixed.

Also, i believe many sensors and controls changed between 92-93 and 94-95, so that begs the question, what is this engine out of, and what was swapped over?

This engine is out of a 92, the body is a 93. As far as far as i know, everything on the engine is from the 92 and the pcm is from the 93.
I checked the cables from the icm to the cps and all of them passed for continuity. Yes you do have to align it to 0.20 with a brass feeler gage to the outer ring with the 18 teeth.

Im wondering if the piece on the harmonic balancer needs to be replaced... It still has some magnetism to it..
