Default external temp blinking

Anyone know why my external temp reading on my climate control would be blinking.

It'* telling you that you have an error code stored in the climate control computer.

Umm... I kind of doubt it; the HVAC controller is pretty much interested in itself only, not issues with the engine or powertrain. Given the age of your car, it'* most likely trying to tell you that you're low on refrigerant, but in any case you'll want to just get the error code out of it and see what it says. (It'* not the same as a Check Engine light; it'* an error in the climate control system, not an engine control system.)

I don't think you can do the self-diagnostics on a 95, can you? I know on my 93 I could. Procedure in Techinfo.

I think you're right. The point I was trying to make was that the error code wouldn't be in the PCM; it'* in the HVAC controller. I wouldn't want him to waste his time at AutoZone or wherever, having them pull error codes from the wrong place.

Absolutely. He'* going to HAVE to go to the dealer on that one. Your procedure worked great for me, btw. Only it was my alternator the whole time!

If you have a 94, try the procedure in Techinfo. Hold the off and warm buttons for a few seconds.
