NEED HELP fuel pump died out after running out of gas
I have a 95 bonneville non supercharged I was driving when my needle was low as I usually do parked running perfect cut it off then that was it my problems seems to be that air ran in thru my pump even after filling the tank no pressure sounds from the pump anymore put gas in my air intake ran well for a couple minutes then died out 5 times pump still won't charge my questions is, is there a way to re pressurize or bleed the fuel lines to make it pump again cause I don't believe it takes a new pump just for running out of gas or at least hope not.....please help

I have never had to prime an in-tank fuel pump after replacing one. Nor do I find any instructions to prime in the '95 FSM. I believe these pumps are cooled by the gasoline in the tank. If they run while the tank is empty, maybe they can get hot enough to cause damage to the pump or blow a fuse. It'* one good reason not to routinely run these cars with just a little fuel.
Does the pump run when you turn the key to the "on" position? Maybe you lucked out and just blew the fuse.

You should always keep the tank topped up and never run for extended time with a level below 1/4 tank.
These fuel pumps are not designed to dissapate heat unless they are submerged and will burn out quickly if not kept submerged.

The fuel pump fuse (20A) is located in the relay center behind the passenger kick panel. The fuel pump relay is also located there. First check the fuse. If it is OK, and the pump is still not running, you probably have a bad pump, but here'* a paraphrase of the FSM procedure for checking fuel pump relay and wiring anyway:
Fuel pump not running
No pressure:
ignition on
remove fuel pump relay
install a fused jumper between fuel pump relay connector cavities 87 and 30
does pump run?
yes: bad relay or open in wiring
no: raise vehicle
......disconnect fuel pump connector at fuel tank, connect test light between fuel
............pump harness connector terminals D and C
......light should be on
yes: bad fuel pump
no: bad wiring
Good luck

One more question on this subject fuel pump is on the bottom of the tank? is draing or dropping the tank required? What parts should come with the pump unit for install or what to expect from a complete fuel pump package??
