When the car is under heavy acceleration it sputters and or chuggles,but when under light acceleration it is fine. It is giving a code (QDM 2 malfunction). How or would this code have anything to do with the acceleration? I have been reading up alot on the TCC(torque converter clutch) circuit and all but nothing tells of a repairable procedure except Dealership or garage and i'm not even sure that this is a problem,yet. There are two mil lights on (Anti-lock/ABS) but i don't think this is with the acceleration problem. Car has been stting for about three years and just found the time to get it running again.I have replaced the EGR valve and several other sensors and relays. I don't reccomend letting them sit, I believe that is where my problem is with the mil lights.

Check your air intake system.
Start at the filter, then check and clean your MAF sensor.
I'd also suggest a complete tuneup, oil change, and a thorugh inspection of all wiring harnesses for mouse buffets.

Which P code is associated with QDM2? P1670 is QDM4. Once you supply Mike with the code, he can look it up in his super deluxe 95 FSM'* and tell us which items it controls. From there... we can help you check those items.

Most likely the item causing the code is the item holding back power.

I completely missed that part about the QDM. P1650.
Check fuse 5C in the drivers side fuse panel.

This is that nasty one we were chasing awhile back Bill. Almost need a Tech 2 to figure this one out.

I have an AUTOXRAY tool and the olny code it gives is (QDM 2)malfuntion there is no letter code associated with it.I've replaced the coolant and temprature sensors,the knock sensor,the oil pressure sending unit,the linear EGR valve and the throttle positioning sensor. Both fans work on the cooling system so the olny other thing that I haven't been able to look at is the TCC circuit. Not quite sure where it is yet. I was told by the chevy dealer that it is in the transmission and is servicable. Just changed the filter and fluid on both the motor and transmission. Don't really want to get to into the transmission,not alot of knowledge in that area.

How does the Tech 2 tool differ from the Tech one tool? I don't have one but a garage that I took it to did an auto bleed sequence on the car so I could get a brake pedal. I thought that was odd that I would need a computer to tell the vehichle computer to bleed the brakes? But this car seems to be on of those odd years,has OBD2 hook up but has the OBD1 syestem?Go figure.

The Tech2 has the capability to command certain things to turn on and off. I think your mechanic may have been commanding the ABS pump to turn on and cycle through the different valves to facilitate fluid movement.

Your system is more than likely 1.5. It has OBDII codes, but not quite the functionality of a true OBD2 system. It was a testing phase for GM to incorporate the required OBD2 system into the 96 and newer vechicles. Some 95'* have 1.5, and some others do not. I have even seen some 94'* have 1.5 in them.

Ok,got an appointment monday with mechanic. All theses problems have doing alot of thinking,the car had set for almost three years,olny started a few times during that period never drove. But prior to the car being set-up I recall Hydroplaining on the interstate and coming to a stop in the median. Could that have had the potential to mess up a circuit or sensor or maybe even a wiring harness or connection? I know thats kind of out there but you never know with all the electronics on them now a days.
Any thoughts would and will be helpful.

Well heres an update,not sure if this will solve the whole problem? Found out that the Shift solenoid A was bad and keeping the car from dropping into low. Still get some hesitation at top-end occasionally.
Looks like I will have to drop the tranny to replace the shift solenoids as there is very little if any room to pull the side pan off. Any secret tricks anyone may know of to help speed up the process?
